Information on Other Cases and Regulations
Oyez
Oyez is a free law project from Cornell’s LII, Justia, and Chicago-Kent College of Law. They have archived Supreme Court cases, rulings, and Justices, and believe in making this information accessible to the public. It is one of the most comprehensive databases for the Supreme Court’s audio recordings, and lets you search transcripts. They also give in-depth detail on every Justice to have served, as well as a digital tour of the Supreme Court Building.
Justia
Justia is a website that helps clients get answers to their questions, provided by real lawyers. They also have an area that lets you research both state and federal laws.
Legal Information Institute
LII is a not-for-profit group fun by Cornell Law School that publishes law online, creates materials to help people understand the law, and explores new ways to make it easier for the public to find law. They believe that everyone should have access to understand the laws they are under, free of charge.
Legal Help for Low Income Clients
Legal Services Corporation
LSC is the largest funder of legal aid for low-income Americans. It was established in 1074 and is a registered 501(c)(3) that believes everyone should have equal access to legal assistance. They distribute over 90% of their funding to 133 independent non-profit legal aid programs.
Law Help
Law Help helps people on low-income by referring them to local aid and public interest law offices. They also include a network of over 25 statewide legal information portals. They have information about legal rights, court forms you may encounter, links to social service agencies, and more. LawHelp.org is part of www.probono.net.
