A path built here
Attorney Nieves knows how a case moves through this office because she has done the work at each stage. As a legal assistant and then as the firm’s bilingual paralegal, she worked under Attorney Micah E. Huggins on criminal, family, and estate matters: gathering records, preparing files for court, and keeping clients informed.
She kept that work going while she prepared for the bar. On October 6, 2026, she was sworn in as an attorney, and her title changed to Associate Attorney.
The firm’s Spanish front door
Attorney Nieves handles all of the firm’s Spanish. She reviews every Spanish letter and email before it goes out, along with the firm’s Spanish forms and mailers.
That matters to families who speak Spanish at home. You can explain what happened in your own words, ask your questions without waiting for an interpreter, and read every letter about your case in Spanish. If you prefer Spanish, tell us on the first call and we will write to you in Spanish from then on.
What she does every day
She is the firm’s lead operations coordinator. She runs the conflict check before every consultation, so no one meets with us until we know we are free to help. She keeps court days, deadlines, and client updates moving, and she works with Attorney Huggins on the firm’s cases.
How she works
The firm’s motto is “We see the whole person.” For Attorney Nieves, that starts with listening. A court date can feel like the whole world. She makes sure clients and families know what happens next, what to bring, and who to call.
If you are not a U.S. citizen, a criminal case can affect your immigration status. Tell us right away, so we can take that into account.
