Mayra Nieves

Mayra Nieves is a bilingual (English/Spanish) legal professional committed to clear communication, client-centered service, and access to justice. She recently earned her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law and is sitting for the February bar exam.

Mayra brings several years of hands-on legal experience supporting clients and attorneys across North Carolina in criminal, civil, and federal matters. Her background includes case preparation, client intake and communication, legal drafting, court filings, discovery review, and coordination with courts and agencies. She previously served as a bilingual paralegal with Huggins Law Firm, where she helped expand outreach and support for Spanish-speaking clients.

In addition to her professional work, Mayra has participated in community-based legal service efforts, including expunction and driver’s license restoration clinics through the North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center. She earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice from North Carolina A&T State University and a Paralegal Technology Certificate from Guilford Technical Community College.
