Michael Faison

Michael R. Faison, Jr. is a highly motivated, detail-oriented criminal defense attorney licensed and in good standing in North Carolina and the District of Columbia. With more than four years of legal experience—including three years in litigation—Michael has built a reputation for thoughtful advocacy, clear communication, and steady courtroom presence across a diverse caseload. 

Michael’s practice experience includes representing clients in a wide range of criminal matters, from misdemeanors to felonies, with regular appearances in district and superior court. He has also worked on cases involving drug court and juvenile matters, and has handled domestic issues intertwined with criminal allegations. Michael is experienced in legal research and motion practice, client counseling, plea negotiations, and developing strategic solutions tailored to the facts and the law. 

Before focusing his work in criminal defense, Michael served as an Assistant District Attorney in Guilford County, representing the State of North Carolina in cases ranging from Class III to Class A1 misdemeanors. He has also worked as a document review attorney, sharpening his analytical skillset, attention to detail, and compliance-focused review of complex legal records. 

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Methodist University. He is also a Certified Mediator through the Mediation Network of North Carolina, reflecting a long-standing commitment to conflict resolution and constructive outcomes when possible.
